The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is entering an exciting stage in its development under the shared leadership of Salford Royal Foundation Trust and we are now looking to make a number of appointments to support our improvement journey for the future.
Acute Geriatric services are provided on all four main hospital sites with specialist neuro-rehabilitation being provided on our fifth hospital site (Birch Hill Hospital). Our Care of the Elderly medics are responsible for providing specialist care to our older patients in inpatient settings, virtual community beds in patients’ home and on an in-reach basis.
The team generally supports patients of an older age but also those who suffer frailty irrespective of age. There is a significant general medical component to the job, which candidates will be required to contribute to. They are involved in many aspects of elderly care including Dementia care, Acute frailty, Movement disorders and our Stroke team on our Fairfield site have recently been nationally recognised as the highest rated Stroke unit in the country for the care it provides.

Our dedicated and passionate teams across our sites are seeking inspirational clinical leaders who are passionate about transforming geriatric services to deliver comprehensive, high quality care to our population across North East Manchester.
The successful applicant will hold full GMC registration, MRCP or equivalent qualification and be included on the GMC specialist register. A higher degree in a relevant clinical or management subject is desirable (MD or PhD equivalent).
