Applications are invited for a full time (10 PA) consultant post in Endocrinology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The Endocrinology Department provides a comprehensive, tertiary/quaternary paediatric endocrine service within the BRAIN Division at GOSH. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for Paediatric Endocrinology to join our successful team of Endocrinology consultants at GOSH.
The post is to support and lead the Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI) team, which manages a highly acclaimed service funded by NHS England. There is a 1 in 6 on–call commitment for this post, and the post-holder will be expected to cover a week at a time.
The CHI service has strong clinical and research components, and it is envisaged that the post-holder will have a commitment to research and clinical service improvement and participate in ongoing research, establishing collaborative links with Manchester and Liverpool.
The successful candidate will be committed to research and will be expected to take an active role in the on-going programme of audit, clinical governance, teaching and research within Endocrinology.
The appointee will be expected to participate in teaching activities within the department, and will be responsible for educational/clinical supervision of trainees. They will be expected to contribute to service development and audit in order to optimize outcomes in the services they deliver. They will be expected to contribute to various management and governance activities within the department.
