CONSULTANT MICROBIOLOGIST x2 Posts
Airedale is a high performing Foundation Trust (consistently in the top 10 nationally for the quality of care, and recently rated in the lowest risk band by CQC) providing personalised, acute, elective, community and specialist care services of a high standard for local people in an area covering the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Aire Valley and fringes of north Bradford – a community of over 220,000 people across 700 square miles within Yorkshire and Lancashire. The Trust was recently named as runner-up in the Dr Foster Trust of the Year awards having also won the ‘Small Trust of the Year’ four times since 2006, and has recently received the CHKS award for patient safety, along with a range of other awards. The Trust has close to the lowest Hospital Standardised Mortality Rate in England.
One of these posts is a new post and the other is a replacement for a retired colleague, and they are required to deliver the Microbiology and Infection control service for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants should possess FRCPath or equivalent and either have, or be within six months of receiving, a CCT in Microbiology or dual CCT in Microbiology /Infectious Diseases at the date of the advisory appointments committee. This must be evidenced on their application form. Full GMC registration is required. This appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract and is advertised as a full-time post with 10 programmed activities.
