Directorate: Women’s and Children’s incl. Breast

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic middle grade doctors to work in the Paediatric Department at Barts Health. This is a 12 months fixed term contract. This may be open to extension.

The Post holder will be a key member of the medical team responsible for the care of children on both the general paediatrics wards and neonatal units as well as the emergency departments. Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham General have a Level 1 Neonatal Unit and Royal London has a Level 3 neonatal unit.

As part of the medical team the post holder will also be required to attend children in the paediatric A&E department, labour ward and postnatal wards as appropriate. The Paediatric services across Barts Health are renowned not only for training but also for the breadth of experience available due to the diverse demography and epidemiology of the local population.

Although this post is not recognised for training the position will undoubtedly provide valuable experience to those wishing to secure future posts with training recognition. Examples of experience available to potential candidates include high dependency paediatrics, intensive care neonates, paediatric specialist clinics and teaching. All candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration.

The Care Quality Commission has recognised the significant improvements made at Whipps Cross in their latest visit to the CQC website and the 2018 Staff Survey results showed staff have seen many improvements in their working lives. With our passionate staff and commitment to safe and compassionate care, we know Whipps Cross will keep getting better and better. We’d love you to join us on our journey to good and outstanding. Come and be part of the Whipps Cross family where you can make a difference.
