We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual for an exciting new post in a pioneering Integrated Heart Failure service which will provide seamless care to Heart Failure patients across primary and secondary care. The service will be delivered by the successful candidate, another Heart Failure Cardiologist, GPs with Special Interest in HF and HF specialist nurses.
The successful candidate will have an interest in heart failure with additional special interest in complex cardiovascular imaging or device therapy. They will also participate in providing inpatient HF care and the General Cardiology rota; there is no commitment to General Medicine.
The successful individual will join our existing dynamic and cohesive team of 11 Cardiologists. Kettering General Hospital Department of Cardiology has state-of-the-art facilities and provides comprehensive cardiac services including basic and complex imaging (including trans-oesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, coronary CT and a specialised commissioned cardiac MRI service), acute and elective coronary intervention, and device therapy (PPM, ICD, CRT-P, CRT-D).
Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust houses approx 630 beds and provides acute and elective services to approximately 400,000 people. Since becoming a Foundation Trust in 2008, the hospital has embarked on a programme of progressive development and innovation, including: a £4.7m Cardiac Centre and a 24/7 Regional Emergency service for people having heart attacks, a £30m extension to the main hospital block, including a new 12 bed Coronary Care Unit, 16 bed cardiac ward and advanced 16 bed Intensive Care Unit.
Kettering is centrally located – London is less than 1 hour by rail and Kettering to Paris via Eurostar is 3 hours. By road, Kettering is within easy reach of 5 international airports and 75% of the country can be reached within 2 hours
