Consultant in Medical Retina
St George’s and the Clinical Research Facility at Moorfields City Road
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Medical Retina at Moorfields South, with a clinical research commitment at the Clinical Research Facility at City Road.
The post is based on 2 sites, Moorfields at St George’s and the Clinical Research Facility at Moorfields City Road, although some teaching and clinical governance sessions are held on other sites within the Trust. There are 10 programmed activities of which Clinical takes 3.5, Direct research patient care 4, Research Management/Pharmacovigilance 1 and Supporting Professional Activities 1.5. The post will be included on the medical retina/uveitis consultant on call rota at City Road 1 in 26.
The post-holder will be responsible for managing medical retina eye disease and intravitreal injections in Moorfields at St George’s. The research commitment will involve commercial trial recruitment and management of patients on trial protocols with direct patient contact. They will also be involved in service redesign developing stable monitoring pathways and innovative models of care in ophthalmology with our commissioners. The post-holder will also work with their counterparts in Moorfields South to ensure an even provision of care across the Division.
