Consultant in Otolaryngology
Substantive consultant in Otolaryngology with a special interest in Head and Neck Cancer.
This is a new full time post for a Substantive Consultant to support a busy unit which is expanding. The post is mainly based at the Royal Surrey but one clinic a week is seconded to the North Hampshire Hospital to support the diagnosis and ongoing management of treated cancer patients locally.
This will be a 10 PA contract which is split between 8 PAs of Direct Clinical Care and 2 PAs of Supporting Professional Activities. Some PAs are included for flexible working. It is expected that you are flexible in terms of operating lists and that you may be asked to undertake additional Programmed Activities.
Candidates who wish to work a different number of programmed activities to that specified in the current job plan will be considered for this post, with negotiation on the content of the job plan on an individual basis. Candidates who wish to apply as part of a job share arrangement will also be considered.
You will be part of our team and it is expected that you will bring expertise in the development and provision of new services and share the long term vision of the Head and Neck Unit. You will work closely with the MDT including the award winning Macmillan Aftercare Rehabilitation Service. You will have a 1:8 on call commitment to cover the catchment population of Royal Surrey and Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals.
