This is an exciting opportunity to work in the largest hospital trust in the South West Peninsula which provides a broad range of secondary and tertiary services to the population of Devon, Cornwall and beyond. We are a teaching hospital in partnership with the rapidly expanding Plymouth University.

The Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced, credible and visionary clinician to this new senior leadership role. The Deputy Medical Director for Clinical Governance will be responsible for providing visible and effective clinical leadership throughout the Trust, supporting the Medical Director with responsibilities linked to professional activities such as appraisal and revalidation, medical education, research, development and innovation, MHPS processes and the Safety and Quality Agenda.

Deputising for the Medical Director in all aspects of statutory and professional responsibilities the Deputy Medical Director will act as the Responsible Officer in accordance with the Medical Profession (Responsible Officer) Regulations 2010.
