Locum Consultant General Surgeon

Surgery and Anaesthetics Care Group

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant within our General Surgery department both at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate and William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

Providing person-centered, high quality and effective care is at the top of our agenda and we pride ourselves in demonstrating our values that people feel cared for, safe and confident that we are making a difference in everything we do.

As a Locum Consultant you will be required to deliver clinic and theatre activity, having a wide knowledge of both General and Gastrointestinal surgery. Experience in Laparoscopic surgery together with operating on hot gall bladders would be desirable. As part of the team you will contribute to enhancing the already excellent standard for patients in East Kent.

This is your opportunity to make a profound impact on the future of the Trust as well as the lives of every person we care for. You will be able to demonstrate your passion for delivering high standards of healthcare to the public, patient safety and patient experience.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) is one of the largest hospital trusts in UK serving a population of 750,000. University status was gained in August 2008, reflecting our training provision for doctors and in particular, our undergraduate medical students.

This post is suitable for a Consultant appointment with the department/trust supporting to a specialist registry if appropriate. Visits to the unit are encouraged.
