Portfolio GP - Acute Medicine
The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is working in conjunction with Primary care practices in the Swindon and Shrivenham area to develop these innovative new roles. GP Portfolio career roles are designed for local GPs who wish to work across primary and secondary care simultaneously undertaking part time Hospital Medicine roles to develop skills within a chosen specialty.
The appointed candidates will be paid on the Specialty Doctor pay scale with a pre-determined starting salary of £62,593 pro rata (£6,259 per 4 hour session annually), rising to £72,840 (the top of the scale). Candidates will also receive annual leave, 6.5 sessions a year for each session worked and Study leave, 2 sessions a year for each session worked. In addition there is access to funding for study leave courses.
Candidates will also be given the opportunity to undertake NHSE funded further education within a relevant subject, such as a Diploma in Dermatology should you be appointed to a Dermatology role. The funding available for further education opportunities is currently capped at £2,500, however, depending on the candidates appointed there might be further funding available.
To be appointed to one of these roles, candidates must work or be in the process of gaining employment as a GP within the Swindon area. The roles are open to all GPs both experienced and newly qualified candidates will be considered.
