We have an exciting and new opportunity for the right Consultant in Public Health to join the Public Health & Well-being Directorate which spans a portfolio of public health services and an exceptional and dedicated LPHT serving local people across the Hywel Dda UHB area.
Salary scale: Medical consultant scale (point commensurate with previous experience)/ Agenda for Change Band 9 for non-medical staff
Location: Carmarthen (with regular travel across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion and other parts of Wales and the UK to fully meet all business requirements)
We are looking for someone to provide inspiring leadership as the Health Board begins to use its new Health & Well-being Framework to implement its local Health & Care Strategy ”A Healthier Mid & West Wales” whilst providing a credible deputy to the Executive Director of Public Health in relation to their corporate Health Board role.
Supporting the Health Board make a transformational shift to a social model for health & well-being where prevention is at the heart of all that we provide.
With a leadership role for the quality, safety and patient experience agenda this post is ideal for a specialist in Public Health driven to see and with the necessary skills and experience to deliver a preventative approach for both non-communicable and communicable diseases along with a keen interest in providing healthcare services that are safe, sustainable, accessible and kind.
In addition to the strategic and technical capabilities required for these roles, we are looking for individuals who are passionate and believe in what they do. A public health specialist who strives for excellence in their work, is keen to learn, and support others in their learning.
