Consultant Psychiatrist (x2)
We are an exciting and innovative NHS organisation making quality and service improvement our priority. As a Mental Health Trust we pride ourselves on our ability to provide excellent mental health care across the lifespan to the residents of Dudley and Walsall.
Due to internal moves, we are now looking to fill the following posts, based at Bushey Fields Hospital in Dudley.
Bushey Fields Hospital, Dudley, DY1 2LZ
Crisis Resolution/Home Treatment
10 Programmed Activities.
Applications are invited for 2 x full time Consultants to work in leading the Crisis/Home Treatment team based at Bushey Fields Hospital Dudley. These are existing posts within a well-established supportive team working in close collaboration with the 8 Consultants in General Adult Psychiatry and their teams. The locality is divided into eight sectors, having retained the Continuity of Care model. Patients have access to local beds and strong links with community services and the CRHT team ensure that patients remain close to home, and treatment is provided as close to home as possible. The CRHT team is seen as vital in maintaining this successful model.
The consultant will work with a Consultant colleague in CRHT; have the support of an experienced Associate Specialist and the recent addition of a CT3 trainee and an FY1, working alongside a very experienced team of nurses and other clinicians, using agile technology and with administrative support.
For the above posts, there are opportunities for someone with an enthusiasm for leadership and innovation to become involved in active service improvement and partnership working with GPs and primary care is a focus of our development. The Trust encourages the participation of medical staff in Medical Management through to the Associate Medical Directorates and Medical Director, and there is strong support from the Clinical Directors for Acute and Community Services. As a training and teaching Trust there are opportunities to teach postgraduate psychiatric and GP trainees and undergraduates from Birmingham and Grenada Universities. Links to local Universities have always been strong and input to Birmingham and Wolverhampton Universities is welcomed.
