Clinical Lead for Sexual Problems Service and for Trans Support Service, Liverpool Community Sexual Health, Mersey Care NHS Trust
0.3WTE in the first 12 months, decreasing to 0.275WTE thereafter
The Liverpool Community Sexual Health Service provides comprehensive community based contraception and reproductive healthcare and outreach services throughout the Liverpool area. We are looking to appoint a Clinical Lead for the Sexual Problems Service and Trans Support Service. The post-holder will lead the Sexual Problems Service providing oversight of referrals, supporting and supervising the psychosexual therapist, in addition to delivering psychosexual care themselves to people who are referred into the Sexual Problems Service. They will be responsible for the assessment of and prescribing for men referred with severe psychological distress as a result of their erectile dysfunction. The post holder will also lead the Trans Support Service providing oversight of referrals, supervising and supporting the therapist and representing the service at strategic regional meetings.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC’s GP Register. Applicants should hold an appropriate qualification in Psychosexual Medicine or Psychosexual Counselling and a medical education qualification. Applicants should have proven experience of working with people with sexual problems and with people with gender dysphoria and a clinical background appropriate for the prescribing and monitoring or oral treatments for Erectile Dysfunction.
