Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in NHS Grampian Sexual Health service. This post’s focus is complex SRH and community gynaecology.

Grampian Sexual Health is a Pan Grampian Integrated Sexual Health Service hosted by the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership. The main service is based within the Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village with hub clinics in Dr Grays Hospital Elgin, Chalmers Hospital Banff, Fraserburgh Hospital, Peterhead Hospital, HMP Grampian and the Exchange clinic, a service for men who have sex with men in partnership with Alcohol and Drugs Action.  A wide range of holistic care is offered by the service including community gynaecology, termination of pregnancy and psychosexual medicine.

This is an incredibly dynamic time within the service with a review planned for 2019 and multiple new service developments including a self referral process for sexual assault, joint working with Substance Misuse Services and co-location of sexual health services in custodial settings. There will be opportunity to develop special interest within role and to work alongside the local Managed Care Network (MCN) for Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses. Areas of service need at present include supporting uptake of post-partum LARC. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to be involved in service redesign and shaping delivery across the Grampian area.

This post is based in the Integrated Sexual Health Service at Aberdeen Health and Social Care Village in Aberdeen city centre, but may include duties at other locations across Grampian.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
