Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Ophthalmologists. This is for specialist interests in Glaucoma, Medical Retina or Oculoplastics/Neuro.
The successful candidate will join an expanding Department of Ophthalmology, with 14 Ophthalmic consultants, covering a wide range of specialist interests.
A good surgical background is a pre-requisite for the post and training in more complex cases will be afforded to the successful candidate. Full GMC registration is essential and membership in Ophthalmology part III or equivalent is desirable.
The successful candidate will work alongside a team of trainees, sharing clinical duties and will take part in the on-call rotas. In addition participation in regular Departmental and regional teaching is expected along with participation in clinical audit.
The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites. We serve a local population of approximately 600,000 with some services aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.2 million people. The trust now forms part of the Hull York Medical School with both the NHS sites and Universities of Hull and York.
