Frimley Park Hospital Dermatology Service is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative professional to complement the current clinical team of Consultant Dermatologists, Specialty Doctors, Specialist Nurses, Dermatology Nurses and MacMillan Nurse, and to help us continue to deliver a high performing service. Frimley Park Hospital has a well-deserved reputation for good quality dermatology care and we have consistently achieved excellent outcomes for our patients, most notably through our referral to treatment (RTT) performance consistently exceeding 95% (currently 97.5%+) and above 99% against the skin cancer two week rule (TWR) targets. Candidates will be integral in to us maintaining these high standards and you are expected to have received sub-specialty training in dermatological medicine.
We are commissioned to provide a wide range of dermatology services to our local communities within Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. Our services include minor operations, skin cancer, vulval, patch testing, phototherapy, psoriasis, dermatopathology and general dermatology. The successful applicant will be required to participate and deliver as many of these services as appropriate. Any cases requiring input from our colleagues in other specialties i.e. general surgery, ENT, plastics are managed in house through internal referrals. Sub speciality interests which complement the existing team would be advantageous, but not essential.
This is a negotiable established post (6-10 PA’s) to enhance the care of our dermatology patients within the clinic and minor operations environments, and also on the hospital wards. You will assist the consultant team, specialty doctors and specialist nurses to provide a service that meets the needs of our ever expanding caseload. We would certainly encourage applicants with an interest in clinical audit, research and development, and clinical education. Attendance at local and network multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and local team meetings will be expected.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical supervision to the junior medical team (Specialty Doctors and Clinical Fellow) and the dermatology nursing team. You should possess Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and have a wealth of prior experience in dermatology. The ability to drive will be essential due to the number of off-site clinics we run; we can provide an electric car if necessary.
Frimley Park Hospital is located just off junction 4 of the M3 and is ideally located within commuting distance of South West London – the nearest mainline train station is Farnborough Main with quick access to Waterloo and Clapham Junction. Local towns are Camberley, Farnborough, Ascot, Windsor, Farnham, and Guildford.
