Consultant Orthopeadic Surgeon
Opportunity has arisen to appoint a Spinal Surgery Consultant Position at Kettering General Hospital
Also to appoint a Locum Consultant with Specialty Interests in Spinal Surgery.(orthopaedic or neurosurgical training)
This is a replacement post which has been approved by the Trust, pending a substantive appointment.
The incumbent Consultant will join a team of ten other Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. The job will include elective work with focus in spinal surgery at DGH level in line with recommended national guidelines.
There is support from East Midlands Spinal network and Leicester spinal team for urgent interventions such as cauda equine and MSCC. Spinal trauma is also supported by Coventry and Warwick which is the Major Trauma Centre.
Optional participating in on-call rota , Adult and Paediatric Trauma rota with colleague cover. This position will be contracted for 10 Programmed Activities (PAs).
Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an Affiliated Teaching Hospital providing a service to approximately 360,000 people with 600 beds. Since becoming a Foundation Trust in 2008, the hospital has embarked on a programme of progressive development and innovation, the most recent being a £30million extension to the main ward block to provide extended ICU/HDU/CCU facilities, and dedicated children and adolescent wards with paediatric OPD facilities.
Kettering is centrally located and easy access to London in less than 1 hour by rail. By road, Kettering is within easy reach of 5 international airports and 75% of the country can be reached within 2 hours.
