The University is seeking to reappoint a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Radiology (Body Imaging) at consultant level to complement existing strengths in its research imaging facilities.

Candidates with a proven track record in imaging research are preferred (at PhD or MD level), but those with an interest in clinical imaging research are also invited to apply. A particular attraction is the opportunity to gain research experience and develop a research portfolio through collaboration with several vibrant world-leading research streams focusing on cardiovascular, thoracic, neurological and inflammation diseases. Edinburgh has superb imaging, clinical and world-class biomedical research facilities are available, co-located with MRC Centres and BHF Centre of Research Excellence.

Edinburgh Imaging encompasses groups in the preclinical, veterinary, and clinical domains, and has broad ranging dedicated research facilities, including preclinical micro PET-CT, ultrasound and 4.7T MRI, two full time research MR scanners (both 3.0T), PET-MRI scanner, PET-CT scanner (with an additional PET-CT system to cover NHS needs), cyclotron/radiochemistry, and dedicated multidisciplinary imaging expertise. The Royal Dick Veterinary hospital hosts large animal imaging facilities with a dedicated research facility opening early 2020.

You will promote clinical academic imaging including facilitation of workshops and online training with a focus on Body Imaging. Candidates will provide research input to other studies and will also develop their own interests, while enhancing eLearning and on-line teaching initiatives. The post is approved at consultant/post general CCT level and is for three years in the first instance. Clinical radiology sessions will be undertaken in the Radiology Directorate, NHS Lothian.

Candidates must have full registration with the GMC, be included on the Specialist Register as a Radiologist and will be offered an Honorary Consultant contract with NHS Lothian.
