MYDoc Specialty Doctor in Women’s Services
Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of these new roles aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. Our posts will combine education and career development with practical patient-facing care.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts. Nevertheless, MYDoc doctors will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities to consolidate and develop alongside their experiential learning, with certificated outcomes or credentialing to support career progression through other routes.
An Introduction to the Division/Specialty from The Head of Clinical Service
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and help to provide a comprehensive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service within the Trust. They will work in close co-operation with nursing, midwifery, professional and technical staff.
There is a single labour ward together with inpatient antenatal and postnatal ward at Pinderfields General Hospital. The department runs day case and inpatient theatre lists, antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, early pregnancy and antenatal assessment units. There is a level 2 neonatal unit adjacent to the labour ward.
The post holder may be attached primarily to a named Consultant, but may work with any of the other Consultants on occasions.
Applicants will be eligible for the post of Specialty Doctor as described in Terms and Conditions of Service for Specialty Doctors – England (2008) and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale MC46 (£39,060 to £72,840) per annum.
