QEQM

Do you want to work for one of the UK’s largest Trusts, situated in the “Garden of England”, near beautiful sandy beaches, and just a stone’s throw from London and with easy, fast access to France and beyond?

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a full time T&O Clinical Fellow. This job will be working as a middle grade position (registrar) and the post will form part of a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking department. Research and Audit are strongly encouraged within the Trust and the department. The post holder will be required to be experienced in Trauma & Orthopaedic services and participate in a 1:8 On Call Rota, working directly with a consultant and supported by junior medical staff.  This is a post to back fill a training post from the Deanery.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust manages three acute district general hospitals in Margate, Canterbury and Ashford with two supporting hospitals at Dover and Folkestone. The Trust is one of the largest in the country, employing over 6,500 staff and serves a population of over 720,000. The post will be based at The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

The Trauma & Orthopaedic Department is part of the Surgical Division which encompasses all Trust-wide Surgical Specialties, Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Chronic Pain. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, ambitious individual who will join a well-integrated, dynamic team. The QEQM Hospital unit has a dedicated trauma ward consisting of 22 beds & an orthopaedic elective ward consisting of 26 beds and a day case service.

“It was also recently announced that a new medical school, the first in the county, will be opening in two years. The school, which will offer 100 medical school places per year, is a game-changing opportunity and one which the two universities and Kent and Medway trusts have been working towards and hoping for over several years.”

We aim to provide safe and effective care that exceeds the expectations of our patients and the public and we are looking for excellent clinicians who embrace our Trust values and care so that: People feel cared for as individuals: People feel safe, reassured and involved: People feel that we are making a difference: People feel teamwork, trust and respect is at the heart of everything we do
