General Anaesthetics with an interest in Intensive Care Medicine

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust incorporates Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon Hospitals.  The Trust serves a community of approximately 270,000 in South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. The largest population centres are the towns of Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa, Southam, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick.

The Trust is a busy District General Hospital, which provides a variety of surgical specialties catering for a high number of elective patients. It has a 7 bedded combined HDU / ICU unit and delivers and Outreach service 24/7. The Anaesthetic department has been ACSA accredited on a yearly basis since 2015.

The Trust runs an established Multi- disciplinary chronic pain service, which focuses on patient outcomes utilising Pain management programmes alongside a low number of interventional treatments. The Anaesthetic department also runs a 5 day nurse led Acute Pain Service, with a weekly consultant ward round.

The Trust has refurbished the main operating theatre suite and is currently undertaking a further extension of its theatre suite due for completion December 2019. The Trust provides Obstetric services which includes a recently built Midwifery led unit.

Due to retirements within the department we would like to invite applications for this Consultant post at Warwick Hospital.

The post will include a variety of general anaesthetic and emergency duties.

The successful applicants will be expected to participate in the Consultant on call rota which currently incorporates weekends 1:8 (ICU) 1:9 (non ICU) out of hour’s commitments. This system may however alter in the future as training allocations, and resident duty requirements alter.
