Senior Lecturer in Hepatology and Honorary Consultant Hepatologist
We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to this exciting new post, which has been created for a self-motivated clinical academic to establish an independent research program at St George’s University of London. The post holder will develop and pursue research that is broadly aligned with interests within one of the three research institutes of SGUL, where s/he will be based, and with the Hepatology Service within the Trust. Clinical duties will be within the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in St George’s Hospital, including outpatient clinics, inpatient Hepatology and endoscopy as appropriate. The department provides the full range of non-transplant Hepatology services including portal pressure studies, TIPSS, complex viral hepatitis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Key attributes of the successful applicant include:
- Successful track record in liver-related research with a corresponding publication record
- Strong desire to pursue a research career in liver disease with an ability to work independently to create and deliver a sustainable research programme within SGUL
- Enthusiasm, flexibility and an ability to work collaboratively across the university, the trust and research networks
