Consultant in Dermatology
The East Lancashire Hospitals’ Dermatology team are looking for a Consultant Dermatologist to join the team. The post is for a 10 PA positon but the directorate is open to candidates who may wish to work to a part time PA commitment. Please indicate in your application if you wish to be considered for a part time post and your ideal working days.
The Dermatology team are highly motivated and regularly receive exemplary feedback from patients, trainees and temporary clinical post holders.
The successful applicant will carry out skin cancer and medical dermatology clinics. There is no on-call commitment for this post.
The position involves working alongside 5 experienced consultants, 2 rotating speciality trainees, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, a skin cancer nurse specialist and over 30 dedicated nurses and health care assistants. The department offers patch testing, phototherapy, minor procedures and photodynamic therapy. The team also has excellent relationships with Maxillofacial, ENT and Plastic surgery colleagues at ELHT and other trusts.
The ELHT team leads the way with sub-specialty dermatology, and is proud to employ both a vulval and male genital specialist. The innovative service aims to develop all staff members, from setting up nurse-led services and training ST3s, to welcoming GPs to develop their special interest in Dermatology. At ELHT, the division of care between consultant, middle grade and nursing colleagues allows for each person to work at the top of their scope of practice, maximising job satisfaction in all roles.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Dermatology or be within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialty Registration (CESR).
