Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Lead for Emergency Gynaecology
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department is looking to appoint full time Consultant as lead for emergency Gynaecology.
The post is suitable for enthusiastic candidates with an interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and will contribute to the department providing 60 hours of resident consultant cover on delivery suite per week. This is a substantive appointment, based at Worthing Hospital part of the Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and is available from 1 October 2019.
The post is a replacement post and comprises 10 core programmed activities (PAs) including a 1:7 week of CIA, 1:7 weekend on call, weekly emergency gynaecology clinic, weekly operating session, antenatal clinic and alternate week general gynaecology clinic.
The post holder will join a supportive and experienced consultant team offering a wide range of gynaecology and obstetrics specialist skills and experience, including specialist clinics for high risk obstetrics, diabetes, fetal medicine, perinatal mental health, multiple pregnancy, obstetric haematology, gynae-oncology, colposcopy, early pregnancy, recurrent miscarriage, ambulatory gynaecology, pelvic pain, vulval dermatology and uro-gynaecology.

All newly appointed Consultants are mentored, via the “WSHFT Mentorship scheme for senior medical staff”.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining Specialist Registration at the time of interview. Applications from candidates who, for personal reasons, are unable to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for this post.
