We are recruiting for multiple Clinical Teaching Fellows to join in August 2019. These posts are full time on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2020.
The starting salary will be from £27,146 up to £47,132 (pro rata) on the NHS Clinical Lecturer salary scale.
Summary of the role
These posts offer a unique and exciting chance for you to combine an extensive teaching role at Exeter Medical School with Trust grade positions at core medical or core surgical training level at our neighbouring partner hospital, the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RDE). These will be invaluable posts for those who enjoy and value teaching, and who see their career developing in medical education and training.
These posts are full time for one year at the College of Medicine & Health in partnership with the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. The posts will be 50% teaching and 50% clinical, with an out of hours on-call commitment to the relevant clinical rota throughout the year. You will primarily teach anatomy or biomedical sciences to students in years 1 and 2 of the University of Exeter Medical School BMBS Programme. In addition you will be involved in teaching, demonstrating and assessing students in all five years as well as contributing to curriculum development and innovation.
The successful applicants will be employed by the University of Exeter but will be awarded honorary NHS contracts with the RDE. The RDE post will be a Trust Doctor role at CT1/2/ST3 equivalent in terms of salary and responsibility on the Clinical Lecturer (doctors in training) ('new' 2016 pay system).
Key skills and experience include:
- BMBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Satisfactory completion of F1 year or higher for CMT and CST posts
- Evidence of a commitment to high-quality teaching and education
