Clinical Fellow FY2 & ST1/2 Level – General Medicine

Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow FY2 & ST1/2 level posts in General Medicine. These posts enable the postholder to gain clinical experience in General Medicine and offers learning opportunities through our dedicated Medical Education Team. The posts will commence on 7th August 2019 for a period of 12 months.
The postholders will be working on general medical wards and rotate through medical specialties. Some of these posts will be part of the full shift rota which will include evenings, nights and weekends. Posts will attract pay enhancements as per the rota according to the rota worked.
If you have an interest in Leadership and Management and would like to do a formal qualification there may be an opportunity to do this whilst undertaking this role. The Trust supports the Health, Economics, Leadership Management Programme (HELM) and is committed to supporting those Doctors who are keen to learn more about NHS Management.
The successful candidate will have a study leave allowance which includes up to 30 days leave and £500 funding per year. Although the posts are not formally recognised for training; there will be the opportunity to attend the internal teaching programmes and you will be assigned an Educational Supervisor.
Swindon is a thriving town set between the Cotswolds to the North and West, the Upper Thames valley to the East and the Marlborough Downs to the South. Other cultural opportunities abound in London, Bristol and Oxford all of which are within one hour by car with easy links by public transport. The rail journey to London Paddington from Swindon is approximately 55 minutes and Heathrow Airport is only an hour away from Swindon by car.
There are beautiful villages with affordable housing in the surrounding rural areas of Wiltshire, the Cotswolds and Marlborough. Marlborough is a bustling market town located in the Savernake Forest only 10 miles away from Swindon and offers excellent housing with renowned educational institutions and Cirencester, capital of the Cotswolds, is only twenty miles away with picturesque lakes and excellent housing.
