Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to advertise 4 clinical fellow roles aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career but who want to take time out to develop a special interest. They would also suit doctors who just take time out to develop new skills and enhance their CVs. Our posts combine a guaranteed day a week dedicated to your chosen special interest as well as education and career development with practical patient-facing care. Successful applicants will work 1:4 weekends with no night shifts.
We have a proven track record having first developed these posts in 2013; this year sees an expansion in the number and types of clinical fellow roles we can offer.
We are able to support clinical fellows in developing a special interest in the following areas:
- Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine in partnership with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service
- Paediatric Emergency Medicine
- Medical Education
- Emergency Medicine Ultra-Sound
- Sports and exercise medicine
- Medical management and leadership
The list is not endless and if there is something that you are passionate about and are wondering how to incorporate it into a career in Emergency Medicine, please come and talk to us about how we can help create the ideal job for you.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts. Nevertheless, MYDoc doctors will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities to consolidate and develop.
Acute urgent and emergency care at Mid-Yorkshire is now focussed primarily on our Pinderfields Hospital site although all our doctors are involved in delivering care to patients across 2 Emergency Departments, with support and supervision from senior colleagues. Working within a team of dedicated and committed professionals providing high quality care and treatment in what is, when combined across the three hospitals, consistently ranked as one of the top five busiest Urgent and Emergency Medicine services in England.
From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the cross site senior trainee rota. The senior trainee rota is compliant with the 2016 junior doctor contract averaging 48 hours per week.
People wishing to work less that whole time are also encouraged to apply.
