Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology
Bristol Eye Hospital are looking to appoint full time substantive Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist to join our busy team providing local, regional and supra-regional paediatric ophthalmology services.
The Paediatric Ophthalmology team presently comprises 3 Consultants (approx. 1.7WTE); specialist paediatric orthoptists, optometrists, nurses and imaging technicians, a paediatric ECLO and a paediatric clinical psychologist. We work closely with colleagues in the regional paediatric centre Bristol Royal Hospital for Children which is located next door.
Services provided include paediatric cataract; genetics; special needs/cerebral visual impairment, screening and treatment for ROP and general paediatric ophthalmology including squint, paediatric primary care and a busy paediatric neuro-ophthalmology service supporting the Regional Paediatric Neurosciences department in Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital (BRCH). In addition there are specialist paediatric cornea and uveitis clinics. There is a dedicated Paediatric Ophthalmology clinical area, the electrodiagnostics department is on the same floor and new investigative services and equipment (objective eye tracking, hand-held OCT) will be available during 2019.
