Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
We are looking for a Locum Consultant to cover maternity leave for 12 months, starting September 2019. We would like to find a colleague with general respiratory and general medical skills who would work well within our team of 7 consultants.
The Department includes an NHS England specialist funded Cystic Fibrosis Unit, and an Acute Dependency Unit (ADU) providing Level 2 respiratory care.
We provide a sub-regional service for endobronchial ultrasound and tunneled chest drain placement in the management of lung cancer. We run sub-specialty clinics for sleep, home non-invasive ventilation, lung cancer, tuberculosis, and a linked ILD MDT with the Royal Brompton Hospital. We have a dedicated lung function and sleep technician and excellent specialist nurse support.
There will also be an on-call commitment to cover the general medical weekday rota (5pm to 9pm and nonresident overnight) on a 1 in 15 basis and respiratory weekend days (8am – 5pm) 1 weekend in 8. The post-holder should be available to commence September 2019.
An interest in lung cancer (including EBUS) and pleural disease (including thoracoscopy) would be desirable, but candidates with other interests are encouraged to apply as the job plan is flexible.
For an informal discussion of the post, please contact Dr Lucy Schomberg or Dr Chris Orchard on 01276 604604 or alternatively, please click the apply button to apply.
