We are inviting applications from Consultant Obstetricians and Gynecologists keen to relocate to the desirable Nelson/ Marlborough region at the top of the South Island. About you

We are looking for an Obstetrics and Gynecology consultants who would be comfortable working in a smaller provincial hospital and will make a positive contribution to the existing Obstetrics and Gynecology team.

Required qualifications and experience include the following:

  • FRANZCOG or equivalent post graduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligible for same Current Annual Practising Certificate, or eligible for it
  • Colposcopy training

About the role

You will join a specialist team providing secondary level Obstetrics and Gynecology services and will share a strong commitment to delivering high quality health care for women and their families.

Participation is expected in the 1:4 on call roster, routine obstetrics, routine gynecology and colposcopy clinics including some outreach clinics.

There are approximately 1000 births per year in the Nelson region and 500 in Marlborough. The maternity service and gynecology services work closely together, as part of the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board. There is also a close relationship with two tertiary providers, being Wellington and Christchurch Hospital’s, which are close by.

Salary for these positions will be the range of $161,304 – $240,000 (as per the current senior medical and

dental officer collective agreement) dependent on skills, experience and gaining full vocational registration in NZ. You will also have access to up-to ten days and a $16,000 allowance to put towards your continued medical education.
