Clinical Director for Inpatient Services - Bedfordshire and Luton
Clinical Director for Inpatient Services Bedfordshire and Luton
Mental Health and Wellbeing Services in Luton and Bedfordshire are part of East London NHS Foundation Trust (last CQC rating: outstanding). They have undergone transformative changes over the past four years with redesigned admission and crisis care pathways, newly developed recovery-focused community mental health teams and expanded primary mental healthcare and liaison services. Strong clinical leadership and an embedded culture of continuous improvement and meaningful patient involvement are helping us to improve care outcomes and staff satisfaction.
ELFT in Bedfordshire and Luton has this year expanded the complement of Clinical Directors leading our mental health services. Within our new configuration, each of the three Clinical Directors leads countywide services within a specific clinical service area. This change in arrangements for medical line management and clinical leadership has allowed an enhanced focus on improving quality within individual service areas and reducing variation between services.
Due to the upcoming retirement of our Clinical Director for Inpatient Services, we are looking to substantively recruit to this well-supported and rarely available medical leadership post.
The successful applicant will be a strong advocate for patients, with a commitment to delivering and creating the conditions for the delivery of high quality patient care. You will be a clinician and leader who can demonstrate meaningfully including patients and their families in the planning and development of services; you will have a strong track record of a collective and facilitative leadership style.
One exciting development on the horizon is the development of a new inpatient facility in Bedford and the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in this important project.
