Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Neurophysiologist to join the Neurophysiology team based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital; working 7 PA’s per week.
Common reasons for referral for neurophysiological investigation is the diagnosis and management of epilepsy, but there is also a substantial electromyography and nerve conduction service which attractsreferrals from the regional specialistneuromuscular serviceaswell ascommunity and hospital based consultants and includes the investigation of congenital and acquired myasthenia using single fibre EMG technique.
There are Scientist-led nerve conduction screening clinic for a variety of neuromuscular and entrapment disorders.
Visual evoked potentials and full electroretinography are performed for neurology and Ophthalmology referrals.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust comprises three hospitals located in Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster serving a population of 560,000. The Trust provides the majority of hospital specialities for the population of Worcestershire, including breast, urology, colorectal, head and neck, gynaecology and orthopaedics. It is a breast and colorectal cancer screening unit. A new and modern oncology treatment centre opened in spring 2015.
