Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist with an interest in Psycho-Oncology
Hours: 6 PA per week (24 hours)
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with cancer. The emotional and mental health of these individuals is an important part of the care we provide. We have recently reconfigured the Adult Psychological Support Service so that Liaison Psychiatry becomes integrated into the service.
A Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist is a key part of this new structure. We are looking for an individual who is interested in this specialist liaison psychiatry role for six sessions a week to provide psychiatric expertise. The job plan includes two outpatient clinics a week one on each site of the hospital (Chelsea and Sutton), review of inpatients, participation in the weekly
MDT, as well as education for junior doctors and clinical governance advice to the organisation in respect of mental health.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership for the work of the two Mental Health Nurses who are part of the Adult Psychological Support Service and work collaboratively with the rest of the Adult Psychological Support Team.
