Consultant in Anaesthesia  subspecialty interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia and Pre-Operative Assessment.

Less than Full Time, 7.5 PA

This is a substantive post. It is based around 4 anaesthetic sessions per week (2 days), with 1:12 on call making a 7.5PA contract.  

The successful applicant will join a cohesive and enthusiastic department of over 120 anaesthetists, including 65 Consultants and 22 SAS doctors providing a full range of elective and emergency anaesthetic services delivered across the Trust’s two acute sites (Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals) as well as the county’s smaller peripheral hospitals. 

Gloucestershire Royal Hospital provides specialist services including upper & lower GI surgery, trauma, renal medicine/haemodialysis, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, paediatric oncology, neurology, rheumatology, dermatology, maxillo-facial surgery and ENT.   

Cheltenham General Hospital specialises in lower GI surgery, gastroenterology, urology (incl robotic surgery), ophthalmology, gynaecological cancer surgery as well as interventional radiology and cardiology. It is the haematology/oncology cancer centre for three counties and the hub for the regional vascular surgical service.
