An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Royal Marsden as a Consultant Microbiologist and in Infectious Diseases. This post will be based across two sites namely Chelsea and Sutton and the successful applicant will join a team of Infection Control nurses and Head of microbiology department providing a consultant-led service to the clinical units within the Trust. The role requires close working collaboration with The Royal Brompton Hospital Microbiologists as well as a shared On Call commitment. The job plan for this role will cover clinical and SPA activity depending on the needs of the service with some research activity.

Applicants should have substantial consultant level experience especially in microbiology or Infectious diseases. Established research experience would be an advantage and the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the research activity within the relevant units within the Trust and to develop their own research interests.

Applicants should be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, or hold equivalent qualifications. Applications must also be supported by evidence of admittance to the GMC Specialist Register.
