We are always looking for enterprising and innovative approaches to the way we provide our services. We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes. Community matters to us and we are supported by 400 dedicated volunteers and have strong links with Bradford University, Craven College and Leeds City College to ensure we inspire the workforce of the future.

The post is ideally aimed at doctors with 2 years anaesthetic experience who are hoping to gain the primary FRCA and enter higher specialist training. Doctors with less experience will be considered provided they have obtained basic competencies in Anaesthesia and Critical Care. The post would also be suitable for doctors with more experience who are out of training particularly those who wish to gain the final FRCA and re-enter training. The responsibilities of the post will reflect the previous experience of the post-holder. For doctors wishing to gain the primary FRCA full participation in our departmental examination programme will be offered. For those wanting to gain the final FRCA we offer a programme of support for MCQ, SAQ and VIVA practice.
A minimum of 2 lists a week will be spent doing supervised regional anaesthesia teaching lists with a regional anaesthetist (when not on night duties). The teaching programme will follow the College training programme leading from basic to higher regional anaesthesia competencies. The successful applicant will also take part in a regional anaesthesia service improvement project and an audit project for which half a day a week will be allocated (when not on night duties). We welcome new ideas for service improvement from post holders or doctors can join one of our existing work streams.
