Consultant in Public Health Medicine/Consultant in Public Health -1 Post
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant to join our strong, well established public health team in Buckinghamshire. You will play a major role in providing public health advice on maternal and child health, broader determinants of health and the growth agenda, inequalities and delivering the council’s health protection responsibilities in addition to providing advice to the integrated care system in Buckinghamshire.
You will be a pro-active, innovative and inspirational leader with strong analytical and technical skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to command the confidence of council members, officers, clinicians and the public. Buckinghamshire has a population of more than 500,000 and although generally healthy and wealthy, there are significant public health challenges and considerable differences in life expectancy across the county.
Buckinghamshire is an exciting place to work and a beautiful place to live. There is excellent partnership working across Buckinghamshire with a shared approach to prevention agreed by partners. The council and NHS are in the first wave of integrated care systems and from April 2020 there will be a new unitary authority for Buckinghamshire which will further enhance our ability to do the best for our residents.
The department is based in Buckinghamshire County Council offices in Aylesbury.
