Consultant Cardiologist (Special Interest in Heart Failure)
Full time, 40 hours per week (10 PAs)
We have been working with Bromley CCG to develop an innovative model to deliver outstanding care to our patients with heart failure. Central to this model is increased consultant input in the primary care setting.
To support this program we wish to recruit a high calibre Consultant in Cardiology to join the Integrated Heart Failure team within the Post-Acute Medicine Directorate. You will contribute to the provision of high quality Heart Failure care located at Princess Royal University Hospital and in the community part of a new model of integrated care with two other cardiologists.
The post holder will work mainly part of the new Bromley integrated Heart Failure service but will also contribute to the provision of the acute and general cardiology service (Cardiology consultant of the week), provide and further develop care for general cardiology patients.
The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the allied specialties of primary care, palliative care medicine, care of the elderly, community matrons and community third sector services.
Depending on the post holder other clinical specialist interests there will be opportunities to contribute to cardiology services in King’s College Hospital at Denmark Hill site.
The successful candidate should be enthusiastic with proven experience in Cardiology especially in the specialty of Heart Failure, and be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will need to have strong leadership and communication skills coupled with a burning desire to improve and succeed. In return, you will benefit from working in a high performing Cardiac team and service in which you will be supported to further develop those skills.
