Consultant in Gastroenterology
We are seeking Consultant Gastroenterologists to enhance the provision of Gastroenterology services within the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and meet the growing demands of the service. The post holder will provide a high quality diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy service, a high quality outpatient service, including patient administration and manage gastroenterology and medical in-patients on the gastroenterology ward. There is no requirement for participation in the GIM rota but this could be negotiated for candidates requiring this. The newly appointed Consultants will take part in the developing out of hours GI Bleed Rota, currently 1 in 7.
The Gastroenterology departments on both sites encompass busy JAG accredited endoscopy units which provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, GI physiology as well as Bowel Screening Services. The departments are supported by Gastroenterology Specialist Nurses, Hepatology Specialist Nurses, clinical endoscopists and a complement of junior doctors
The posts are based at Peterborough City Hospital, but post holders may have to work at the Hinchingbrooke site occasionally to meet the needs of the services as they become more integrated. This is a great opportunity to join a growing and developing service
