Addenbrooke's Hospital is the Level 1 Trauma Centre status in the East of England. As a consequence, we have developed an Orthopaedic Trauma Unit – currently compromised of 5 fellowship trained orthopaedic trauma surgeons. This is supported by a full complement of trainees, along with a junior and senior trauma fellow.
The orthopaedic trauma unit takes over the care of all multiply injured patients, with orthopaedic injuries, admitted to Addenbrookes on weekdays. Less severe trauma and out-of-hours major trauma will be covered by the Department on a 1:12 basis.
We are looking for an exceptional individual, who is passionate about Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery to work in the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit. The applicant will be expected to have fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma surgery in a major trauma centre.
Job plans have a non-resident on call commitment. The will be an approximate 3:1 Trauma: Elective workload.
