Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology
Dr Parijat De
Great care can change everything. Like you, everyone here at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust wants to be a part of truly brilliant, integrated care. And just like you, we’re ambitious about what we do. We’re always seeking ways to do more and be better for our patients.
Bring your dedication and determination here, and you’ll be surprised by just how great your career can be. We like to think we offer you the best of both worlds. We’re a welcoming and friendly place that’s devoted to our community. But our plans and ideas for the future - yours and ours - are huge.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant to join our award winning Diabetes and Endocrinology Team.
This post has come about through the retirement of one of the current consultants and includes opportunities to work in the community setting and inpatient bed base. This is an exciting time to join the trust and the successful candidate will be able to shape the future model of diabetes and endocrinology. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with an interest in service development to support the new diabetes technologies.
The Trust has a very good reputation for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching with strong links to the University of Birmingham and Health Education West Midlands with the Diabetes and Endocrinology department having both junior doctors in training, and also medical students. The department is involved in a variety of research activities with ample opportunities to contribute to these, or initiate relevant research projects.
The Trust is a key partner with the local commissioning group and the local authorities in the Right Care Right Here programme, which seeks to deliver a redevelopment of local health services. The programme includes one of the largest investments in the UK with new facilities in both the acute and community sectors. Included within this is the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital.
Applicants must be included on the GMC’s Specialist Register in Diabetes and Endocrinology, or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT, at the time of interview.
Visits to the Trust and informal enquiries are welcomed. Please contact Dr Parijat De, clinical lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology.
