We're looking for motivated and enthusiastic trust grade doctors to join our fantastic ED team here at Noble's Hospital on the Isle of Man.

Here, you will be able to gain significant experience of major trauma associated with the island’s widespread motorsport culture – this is particularly concentrated during the TT fortnight in June followed by the Manx Grand Prix in August where several major traumas can be admitted each day requiring extensive stabilisation and intervention.
Outside the motorsport season, due to the wide variety of presentations to the department given our unique location, you will have ample time to develop core techniques within Emergency Medicine within a supportive educational environment. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to undertake audit and other projects which will help improve CV in preparation should you wish to apply for core or specialty training applications.
This is a brilliant opportunity for you work alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team comprising of three Consultants in Emergency Medicine, two Associate Specialists and nine ‘tier 4’ Specialty Doctors, as well as a large team of nursing staff, many of whom qualified Emergency Nurse Practitioners.

About our Department - Quick facts:
- The Emergency Department currently sees over 31,500 patients per annum
- Noble's Hospital is part of the Cheshire and Mersey Major Trauma Collaborative as an accredited Trauma Unit
- Major Trauma has always been a significant part of the workload at the Hospital due to the large numbers of motorsport competitions taking place annually
- There is a strong link between the Emergency Department and Ambulance Service as it sits within the hospital care group

About our Department
The post is based at Noble’s Hospital which is a modern, bright hospital serving the acute healthcare needs of the Isle of Man. Like the UK NHS, the Isle of Man Health Service is free at the point of delivery.
We have our own on-site training centre called Keyll Darree which comprises lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state of the art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners. Frequent simulation based surgical training programmes are run from the lab as well as drills to practice emergency procedures.
This post may be suited to someone who has completed their foundation training but would like further experience in a small but supportive Emergency Department prior to committing to joining a specialty training programme.
The Terms and Conditions of service on the island for this post are essentially the same as in the United Kingdom with enhancements such as automatic annual incremental pay rises.
