An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Neurosurgeon with a specialist interest in Neuro-vascular to join the Department of Neurosurgery at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on a permanent basis from October 2019.
The Department of Neurosurgery at King’s College Hospital is part of one of the largest Regional Neuroscience Units in the UK and the appointee to this post will work closely with the 17 existing neurosurgeons to deal with elective and emergency referrals to the department. The full range of Neurosurgical subspecialties is represented within the department, including complex spine, pituitary, skull base, neuro-oncology, DBS, epilepsy as well as neuro-vascular neurosurgery.
The successful candidate will join the neurosurgical team and will play a lead role in supporting the neuro-vascular service as well as supporting other subspecialties in a flexible manner. Being a very busy service it is essential that the successful candidate has the energy and flexibility to integrate within a busy and thriving neurosurgical department. There will be on-call commitments as part of this role.
King’s is part of King’s Health Partners, an Academic Health Science Centre and is also one of the four Major Trauma Centres in London. New academic initiatives in Clinical Neuroscience on the Denmark Hill campus also make this an exciting time to join us.
