The Faculty of Health provides education in medicine, nursing, psychology, allied health, population health, health economics, health promotion, nutrition and food sciences, and exercise and sports science. Deakin graduates are trained to work in multidisciplinary teams and to investigate, prevent and manage the increasing

burden of chronic disease that is challenging health systems.

The Faculty’s strong research program reflects its multidisciplinary nature. Schools and research groups work with a range of external partners to address both individual and population health problems.

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the Executive Dean will be:

  • an exceptional leader - dedicated to improving health outcomes and leading a large Faculty of experts who will contribute to shaping future health care.
  • responsible for the Faculty’s distinctive contribution to education and research across the health spectrum
  • able to drive a culture of excellence in all Faculty activities
  • skillful in leading strategic and operational relationships with key hospital, clinical, Government and research partners.

A clinical background and a broad working knowledge of the health sector would be advantageous.
