Applications are invited for a Consultant in Anaesthesia with an interest in Pain and Acupuncture at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is recognised worldwide for the quality of its cancer services. The Trust’s aim is to achieve excellence in cancer treatment and diagnosis, through partnership and collaboration. The Royal Marsden, with its partner, the Institute of Cancer Research, provides a centre of excellence for research and development, education, treatment, and care in cancer, and is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. The Trust has a five-year business and service development strategy, focused on developing and improving the provision of cancer care locally, nationally and internationally. Key to the success of this development has been the expansion of theatres, a drive toward 6 day working, more minimal invasive major robotic work, and development of a comprehensive pain management service for patients living with and beyond cancer. Part of this involves delivering a high quality integrated pain management and acupuncture service for patients.

The department is looking for a Consultant with experience in anaesthesia for oncological surgery with an interest in Pain and  Acupuncture. You must be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria: full registration with the General Medical Council, be on the Specialist register or within six months of Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) date at interview, a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and completed Advanced Pain training or hold equivalent qualifications.

For further details/informal visits contact: Dr Pascale Gruber, Clinical Director for Surgery and In-Patient Services or Dr Nathan Kasivisvanathan, Clinical Lead for Anaesthesia on 020 7808 2727.
