CONSULTANT IN DIABETES AND ENDOCRINOLOGYFULL TIME 10 PA’s

We are inviting candidates to apply for the post of Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology to join the existing team of Consultants at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.

This is a substantive and full time post offering clinical speciality work in Diabetes and Endocrinology outpatient clinics, General Medical on calls and covering Endocrinology & General Medical ward base of 18 patients shared with the Consultant team.

The job offers opportunity and on-going experience in general Diabetes including Young Adult/Adolescent Diabetes, Diabetic Foot, Antenatal and possibility of leading and developing a specialism of choice and service need such as insulin pump. Endocrinology clinics include thyroid, adrenal, joint pituitary, parathyroid patients, with monthly Multidisciplinary Meetings and discussions.

The Great Western Hospital opened in 2002 and has been a Foundation Trust since December 2008.  Following a merger with Wiltshire Community Health Services (WCHS) in June 2011 the Trust has provided not only acute hospital services but also a range of community health services in Wiltshire. Since 1 July 2016, Wiltshire Health and Care have provided community healthcare services for adults in Wiltshire, after being selected by Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) as their chosen provider for at least the next five years.
