About our role

Based at Hutt Hospital we are looking for a senior registrar level Fellow to join our general plastic surgery unit starting mid to late 2019 .

Hutt Hospital is well-known for its plastics and reconstructive surgery and has regularly had Fellows from other countries who come to experience a different hospital and way of life before taking up a consultant role somewhere else in the future.

Our position would suit someone who has finished their training and provides the opportunity to learn skills and share their knowledge with the other registrars, provide mentorship and leadership to the registrar team and participate on the registrar on call roster.

You'll also need to be highly-motivated and able to provide teaching and mentoring to junior registrars while at the same time observing and participating in a sub-specialty interest of your choice.

You must be able to work legally in New Zealand and have either a permanent NZ address or a work visa or permit and be eligible for Medical Council New Zealand registration.

Our organisation and region

Hutt Hospital, part of Hutt Valley District Health Board is a busy 270 bed hospital, serving a population of around 145,000. We provide most secondary services, as well as being the tertiary centre for regional plastic, maxillofacial and burns services, the regional rheumatology and school dental services and the greater Wellington public health and breast screening services.
