Registrars or Principal House Officers, Department of Emergency Medicine, Bundaberg Hospital, Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

Remuneration value up to $176,702 p.a., comprising salary between $105,377 - $122,176 p.a. (L4-L9), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), Professional Indemnity Cover and Vocational Training Subsidy. Overtime and on-call allowances will be negotiated with the successful applicant upon appointment. (Two temporary full time positions for twelve months) (Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy).

Exciting opportunities are currently available for Full Time Registrars to join the Bundaberg Emergency Department within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Bundaberg Emergency Department is a large Queensland rural centre serving a major catchment area. We see over 50,000 attendances per year, with a significant trauma and resuscitation load.

We are accredited for 12 months training in Emergency Medicine with ACEM and ACRRM and also have accredited ACEM Anaesthetic, Paediatric and ICU terms, allowing a complete training experience.

There is a dedicated Primary and Fellowship program with regular teaching and upskilling as well as Examination preparation teaching with excellence recent success across both Primary and Fellowship exams.

Along with the excellent case-mix and successful training program, there are also many leisure activities within the Wide Bay area. The region is a must for camping, boating and fishing and an attraction for foodies with award winning local cafes. The Great Barrier Reef and Whale Watching is at our doorstep and less than an hour flight from Brisbane and 20 minutes from the beautiful Bargara Beach, there’s a lot to do in the Wide Bay region.
