Macmillan Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will work primarily at Leighton Hospital, Crewe but will also provide sessions to St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice and Central Cheshire Community Services.

Nevertheless, it is situated only 35 minutes from Manchester or Liverpool, an hour away from Birmingham and only half an hour away from the Peak District and the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Trust has a formal clinical partnership with its nearby University Hospital
of North Midlands in Stoke on Trent, clinical networks in Liverpool and Manchester, and also benefits from links with local universities in Crewe (Manchester Metropolitan University) and in Chester. We also have links with the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance and clinical pathway links with The Christie.
There are three sites including its headquarters at Leighton Hospital near Crewe, with green fields bordering the site on every side, but benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities. These include critical care, neonatal intensive care, a new suite of state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre.
The Trust has invested in clinical expansion significantly in recent years has a good reputation for research and, is rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC from its 2018 full inspection.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the well-established Palliative Care Services for the Central Cheshire area, covering Leighton Hospital, St Luke’s Hospice and the Community. The post holder will work with an established dynamic team of multidisciplinary palliative care specialists and take a lead role in providing, developing and shaping high quality palliative care and end of life services in Central Cheshire.

for the future. This is a new position and an exciting opportunity to shape future palliative care delivery. The post holder will contribute significantly to the development of an innovative and integrated hospital, hospice and community specialist palliative care service across central Cheshire.
The post is offered on a full time or job share basis. The job plan is intended for a full time appointment with an opportunity to modify this if the post is offered on any other basis.
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to
Practice, and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training).
