Principal Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education

Warwick Medical School is established, modern and forward thinking. As the UK’s largest graduate entry MBChB programme, the school is committed to delivering high-quality medical education led by a dynamic and forward-thinking team of academics, clinicians and researchers. WMS MBChB programme is built around Case Based Learning (CBL) which is delivered across all four years of the course. As the CBL lead, you will be responsible for acting as case custodian for CBL cases, monitor the balance and range of cases across all phases of the curriculum. Applications are therefore invited from clinical academics with an interest in medical education to provide strong pedagogic input,innovate and further develop a robust CBL strategy for the MBChB programme.
Your expertise in a clinical field, understanding and application of educational theory will be critical to this role. You will work closely with phase, theme and block leads as well as other academics and clinicians responsible for the curriculum to ensure that the cases cover the appropriate learning outcomes, are well integrated and complementary to learning by other modalities through the course including the quality assurance process. You may also contribute to the Masters in Medical Education programme and to staff development educational activities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate and engage in pedagogic research projects within the School.
Being a clinical role, you will be expected to have an MBChB or equivalent qualifications from a profession allied to medicine and will need to demonstrate the personal skills and abilities in case development, training and delivery necessary for the duties of the post.
The role is expected to be 0.5 FTE with some flexibility in your planning to ensure you are available for key meetings.
